for me, at least. I’m not into “fake baking” (I’m already half-baked!) , “fake character” (believe me, I have enough real character!), “fake bustline” (yea, well I’ve never really needed to concern myself about that!!), or fake anything else. My thirteen-year-old daughter is right with me on all of this - except for fake fingernails…. she loves fake fingernails!!!
On our recent mall excursion, with Crysta’s friend Abbey, we went to Icings. The girls found fake nails they just loved. Abbey’s were clear with pretty flowers on them - Crysta’s were a sort of reverse French manicure…. white nails with black tips. At the end of our day, we got Crysta’s nails all trimmed down and glued onto her fingers…. long, but cute. Then Crysta said I should take the extra set and do my nails…. and so I did - just for the fun of it. Of course, being “Mrs. Practical”, I clipped off much of the black tip and filed them down to a manageable length. Then, after gluing my fingers to the bottle, the nails to the backs of my finger tips and my fingers to each other (!), I put the clipped, shaped and filed nails over my own short, stubby ones. They are definitely not going to fool anyone - they are fake. But, it was fun to do anyway. I still have them on, because I don’t have any polish remover to take them off with. I’ll get some in the next few days when I’m in “O to the maha”. In the meantime, it’s been sort of fun to have nails - I normally don’t have them, not by choice but by nature. Short, squat hands, short stubby fingers, short, brittle nails - that’s me.
Well, I’m off to scratch a few pets behind the ear, and a husband’s back when he gets home. I think the animals and the spouse are enjoying the nails as much, or more, than I am!!
Have a blessed evening.
Keepin’ it real - well mostly, anyway!!
