Oh, ny goodness! How we enjoyed this musical! And it wasn’t just because Devon was in it…. it was just good. And - of course - Devon WAS in it!!!!!
We were pleasantly surprised when we looked at the flyer (pictured) and saw that two other people we know are also in the musical. Nicole Hyurta plays the female lead role of Milly. Her father, Randy, plays Mr. Bixby, who owns the general store in town. Of course, Devon did not mention this to us - we found it out when we got there. Leave it to Devon to not see the importance of telling us this piece of information.
Devon leaves his impression on the play. He is the lumberjack whose actions start the brawl that closes out Act I. And he’s just darn GOOD.
I had an opportunity to meet the producer, Bette Swanson. She is such a nice lady. She had such nice things to say about Devon, and how she would remember him when casting other productions. I even scored the big events poster that is used in the lighted boxes outside. I’ll snag that when the play closes. All in all, I made out like a bandit!
So, I was able to see Devon perform for free. I’ll be back to see it again - and hopefully find a way to snag some pictures of him in costume. Yep - it was that good. I’ll actually PAY to see it again.
Have a great day.
