Heigh Ho, Heigh Ho, It’s Off To Work I Go… Maybe!
Friday was an interesting and fun day for me. I had an interview at FirstData, a corporation here in Nebraska that hires many Omaha area workers. I also went to a B-B-Q with our fellowship group from church. Now that’s a great way to end a day! We have the nicest, sweetest, loving the Lord – est, people in our group. You can not walk away not blessed.
On Friday I went to the offices on 73rd and Pacific and interviewed for a position with the POS Help Desk. This area helps banks, merchants and sales staff troubleshoot and load their point of sale card swipers. It’s not as “technical” as I’ve done in the past, and it’s hourly work as opposed to salaried, so that’s a bit different for me, corporate wise. I do, however, have a real interest in the job. And here’s a little bonus I had not thought of, or expected – if FirstData hires me, they will bridge my previous time worked with them (they were my LAST corporate job in 1997), which will start me out with 18 months under my belt for benefits and seniority purposes. Who knew!?
So, I’m excited about the prospect of, perhaps, being employed again. And this job is swing shift, which will allow me to homeschool Crysta without a hitch in the mornings.
Be praying for me, please. I know God continues to do great things with, and in, my life!
