My mother, Venus, is having surgery tomorrow morning at 7:30 am at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, NE. They will be removing a “wedge” from her liver that contains a 1cm in diameter tumor. This is a one of two tumors that metastasized from her colon. The other was completely eliminated with chemotherapy. Prior to the liver surgery, her proctologist will be reconnecting her small intestine to reverse her ileostomy.
We are very optimistic that this surgery will result in total remission for Mom. We covet your prayers for her. To God’s glory……
Father, I know that you hold my mother’s health and life in your hands. I ask that you use this surgery to provide another opportunity for me to share the good news of your Son, Jesus Christ, with her. May she see her need to move from head knowledge to heart knowledge.
Watch over the hands of the surgeons and the anesthesiologist. Guide them in their work. And, as with my mother, allow me to see and act upon any opportunity you have for me to share the gospel.
