Oh, The Places You’ll Go, Lord!

Myanmar [Burma] has been a prayer concern for me for several months. This is a nation of people not only bound to physical poverty by their government, but a nation of many bound to spiritual poverty because of their lack of a Savior. Now, with the hit of Cyclone Nargis, there is even more concern.

But God! is always faithful. As He says in His word, all things come together for the good of those who believe and are called in accordance with His purpose. Many prayers have been lifted for the ability for aid to be allowed in for the people of Burma. God is answering that prayer. The government of Myanmar is saying they will lift sanctions in order to allow this. And, even if they drag their heels in this, France has petitioned the UN to force aid to be allowed by invocation of the ‘responsibility to protect’ clause. Now, I’m not much for the UN - but God! can use all things, remember?

For the first time in a long time, volunteers will be allowed in to the country. For the first time in months, journalists and photographers will be allowed in. For the first time in months, the rest of the world will have a glimpse of the fate of these people. It is not going to be pretty, but God! is, as always in control with His divine, sovereign plan.

Father, thank You for what you have planned for the nation of Myanmar. Thank you for those people You will draw to the saving grace brought through Your Son. Thank You, Father that you have already appointed those who will go into this mission. Thank You for the protection You will provide. Thank You for the hearts You have prepared to hear of Your Son. We await Your Will, and look with anticipation toward Your workings. In Christ’s name, Amen.
