Please Be in Continued Prayer for the People of Myanmar

Relief volunteers are now estimating that tens of thousands of survivors of Cyclone Nargis will begin dying if aid is not allowed in.  As of this morning, the first of US aid has been allowed in, but as I read it is still being turned over to the Myanmar government for distribution.

The Myanmar government does not have the motivation, man-power, or equipment necessary to undertake such a distribution effort and it is imperative that they allow crisis management experts in to do this work!

Please continue to petition God for the people of Myanmar - both the survivors AND those in government.  Many have stepped up to send aid, but only God can truly deliver what these people need.

Father, I pray for those You would draw to You in Myanmar.  I ask that you grant Your mercies on those who have survived this horrible natural disaster.  Soften the heart of government officials stopping the true relief available through human effort.  Move in supernatural ways to show Your awesome way to these hurting people.  May everything that is accomplished in this effort be a true reflection of Your love and mercy.  May all glory and honor be given to You, as it is meant to be given.  Thank You that we may come to You in prayer through Your Son, Jesus.  Amen.

  • While it has been reported that Myanmar government officials have been uncooperative with international relief efforts, and are just now allowing aid to come in, World Vision has been on the ground from day one bringing supplies to the people of that country - and with the blessing of the Myanmar government.

  • Shane,

That is great news. And definitely not what is being reported in the media. For those interested, you can donate at worldvision.com.
