Today brings our final verses in chapter 5 of Proverbs. This chapter is about staying away from adultery and lust. The strange woman spoken of in the chapter is any woman not your wife. [And, although written to the son by the father, applicable also to woman and men not their husband!]
The strange woman is a dangerous enemy. She will charm you, but she will not do you well. She brings great temptation [v. 1-3, 6-8, 20], and horrible consequences [v. 5-4, 9-14, 21-23].
Today’s believer will do well to pay heed to Proverb 5. Solomon’s words to his son are just as applicable today as they were when written.
