This is the candidate of unity? Hmmm - I must have a total misunderstanding of how one unifies, because this sounds devisive to me…….

You must have forgotten that people in McCain’s own party accused him of having an illegitimate black son to get Bush elected. If they are willing to do that to someone in their own party, I don’t see why it is so shocking for Obama to assume they will do the same to him.
Pulling at straws, here.

Actually, I have not forgotten that at all. I am not shocked at Obama’s assumption. I am sorry you got that impression from what I said.
What I said is that this is not the talk of unity. It is the talk of derisiveness. That is my honest opinion.
If it is not alright for one candidate to smear unfoundedly then why is it alright for another?
Have we been so brainwashed that we toe the party line for wrong? I cannot speak for you, but I have not.
I am pulling at no straws here, my friend. I am simply exercising my right to express my opinion - and allowing you to do the same.
Have a great evening.

Great Geno,
I believe the point of the article is that the other side of the political fence has gone way out of the way to not be associated with using the “race card” so far in the election campaign. It is just ironic that the one man of color running would use it first. It is also ironic that if McCain had used it the Obama worshipers also known as the news media would have crucified him. They certainly would not have called the using of the “race card” “a smart, strategic, political move” as they have for Barak Obama.
