Prayer Request For My Mother- Surgery on Friday at 12:00 CST
My mother had colon cancer. She has had an “ostomy”, and a portion of her colon removed. They found tumors that had metastasized to her liver. One tumor was eliminated with radiation, the other removed and her “ostomy reversed. At that point she was cancer free. But God! has now given us another opportunity to ask for prayer, and be a witness for His Son.
They have found a tumor approximately 2 inches long on the top of her head. At first we were told it had not penetrated the skull, but were then told by the neurosurgeon that it had. It has also managed to attach itself to a portion of a vessel. There is no question in the doctors’ minds this is cancer. And at this point it doesn’t matter what cancer it is – colon or something else. Since they are so certain, they are not going to do an initial biopsy, and are going to go right to removal of the tumor. They had told us that would be next Wednesday.
Today, my mom’s neurosurgeon called to say that it would be done Friday instead – this Friday, like day after tomorrow Friday. Suffice it to say this has shaken up my mother a bit, as she now feels a sense of urgency stronger than even earlier this week.
All that info to ask for your prayer. Please pray for my mom, Venus – that she not be anxious in all this. Also for me, that I be a witness of Christ’s love to those we will be dealing with in the hospital. And for the surgeon and his team – that God guide their every step while working on my mother. And, for our family, please pray for peace and acceptance of whatever God has planned in this. To God be the glory.
We covet your prayers.
Robin
