Epidemic Alert! Foot-In-Mouth Disease Rampant In South Carolina!!

Carol Fowler, wife of former Democratic Chair Don Fowler, appears to have contracted foot-in-mouth disease from her husband.

Just yesterday, Carol was heard uttering that John McCain had selected a running mate:

“whose primary qualification seems to be that she hasn’t had an abortion.”

Mrs. Fowler has now issued the following ::cough:: ::LAME:: ::cough:: apology:

“I personally admire and respect the difficult choices that women make everyday, and I apologize to anyone who finds my comment offensive. I clumsily was making a point about people in South Carolina who may vote based on a single issue. Whether it’s the environment, the economy, the war or a woman’s right to choose, there are people who will cast their vote based on a single issue. That was the only point I was attempting to make.”

Now the obviousness of her point is just as clear as that of the snafu her husband was recently in. Fowler was secretly recorded by the person sitting behind him while flying from Denver, Colo., to Charlotte, N.C., following the Democratic National Convention. His conversation with Rep. John Spratt, D-S.C., was anonymously posted to YouTube and highlighted by RedState.com, a conservative blog. [You can watch it HERE.] Just to refresh memories, here is HIS apology:

“If this offended anybody, I personally apologize,” “It was a mistake, and it was a satirical statement made in jest. And one that I clearly don’t believe. One doesn’t anticipate that one’s private conversation will be surreptitiously taped by some right-wing nutcase but that’s the nature of what we’re dealing with.”

We MUST find the cure for this disease. Lives are depending on it!
