About Me

chalked portrait

I find my contentment in the Lord, and I praise Him for that. My salvation comes by God’s grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. I did not choose God, but by His graciousness He drew me to Him. I cannot earn, nor choose, favor from the Lord. Man’s purpose is for God’s glory. This purpose is our only value. God’s word is clear that man is nothing outside His Son, Jesus Christ.  Without Christ, I have no peace.

My loving husband, Barry, is my confidant, and completer. I strive to be the help meet, and completer, he should have in me. My desire is to be Barry’s Proverbs 31 woman, as well as his “Rib”.  We share our lives with six children, three grandchildren, three dogs, and one cat. It doesn’t get any better than this. God is Good – All the Time!

I am a member of Omaha Bible Church, in Omaha, Nebraska. Our pastor, Pat Abendroth, teaches in an expository manner and I am thankful that God has led me to a church that has helped me to grow in His word.

My faith is NOT works based, but I love that God has service planned in His will for me – and that His plan is for me to serve to His glory.  I love serving the Lord through ministry to His body in our local church. (Local being subjective here – we are about 40 miles from our church and pass three mega-churches to get there)

God’s blessings are abundant – and they are more than I can ever deserve.

In His Grace, by His Grace,

Robin

After reading lots of your blogs, I thought you might like some of these. These are my favorite quotes:

Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about dancing in the rain.

When you let go of what is in your hand, God will let go of what is in His hand for you.

Injustice is only as powerful as your memory of it.

Holding a grudge is like taking poison and expecting the other person to die.

Sometimes you make the right decision and sometimes you make the decision right.

You can only be young once, but you can be immature forever.

Before you knew you had a problem, God had the solution.

It is much more important to be thoughtful than to be thought of

Embrace what makes you different; it also makes you special.

You make time for what is important to you.

You will never possess what you are unwilling to pursue.

    Information breeds confidence.

The secret of your future is hidden in your daily routine.

Sometimes you have to do things you hate to create something you love.

The time you spend on a gift is part of the gift.

To make things work, you may have to change something.

We say to God, “Show me and I’ll go.” God says to us, “Go and I’ll show you.”

There is power in humility and danger in pride.

If it were easy, everyone would do it.

Don’t worry about the future. God has already taken care of it.

If music be the food of love, play on.

Cherish what sets you apart and grow with it.

God cannot bless the attitude of jealousy.

Love is helping when it is not convenient.

In music, one must think with the heart and feel with the brain.

Love is absorbing hurts from others without complaining.

Art washes from the soul the dust of everyday life.

    Where words fail, music speaks.

You can either be pitiful or powerful. Choose one, for you cannot be both.

Time ignores youth’s arrogance and obeys eternity’s clock.

Take a picture in color and you capture the color of their clothes. Take a picture in black and white and you capture the color of their soul.

Failure isn’t in how much milk you’ve spilt. Failure is if you have lost your cow.

Dirty water can still put out a fire.

We live life forwards but understand it backwards.

A friend is someone who reaches for your hand & touches your heart.

To the world, you may be one person, but to one person, you may be the world.

Do whatever you have to at the beginning and you’ll have the end in your pocket.

There can be no testimony without a test.

You can fail and not be a failure.

Forgiveness is me giving up my right to hurt you for hurting me.

You never truly realize how dirty something is until you start cleaning it.
